Few things! First, Retrospective Episode 5 - covers RE4, the movies, Executor and Degeneration. I really wish the original idea for RE4 wasn't scrapped. It seems like it would have been so much better. Also SCISSOR MONSTER. Overall this one wasn't as good since it tried to cram too much into one episode and didn't elaborate much. But it's an okay watch.

PlayStation Home has a special RE5 Kijuju environment to walk around it. It's really cute, you can look at a bunch of signs and it's just there for the excitement factor. My favorite part of the thing is this group photo you can look at there. XD It's not spoilery, I love Wesker's THUMBSUP and wish there were a better quality version out so I could icon that.

Kijuju blog was also updated. If you played the demo, it makes a reference to the scene(s) you see in that.

The RE5 comic has a preview. I-I ... I don't ... "lol comics" sums it up.

And finally.

Game Focus: One of the staff here loves Code Veronica (Fale) and was wondering if we would see a XBLA or PSN release of this game.

Matt Dahlgren: Nothing is planned for the game regarding a remake on PSN/XBLA, but what I can say is if you are a fan of Code Veronica you should pay attention in the next couple of weeks, there is some news you should be very pleased with. Tell him to pay attention on the 12th (March).

[Speaking on RE5 for Wii] "It was made for the Xbox 360 and PS3," he told our correspondent, Xav De Matos, at a recent Capcom event in Toronto. "That being said, Nintendo Wii fans will be very happy very soon."

People are assuming a possible Umbrella Chronicles 2, given the mention of CV in specific and the Wii. I hope it is another UC game, since I personally loved UC for what it was.

YES OMG. One thing I loved about UC were the graphics, especially for characters like Carlos, who is my eternal RE dream boyfriend. So seeing him in good graphics was like unf. I would icon the hell out of a UC Steve.

Yeah. Though with RE5's location, that DOES open up future possibilities. Though they'd need to come up with a good idea, since Billy's circumstance wasn't really biohazard-related. (of course the story was vague though, so they can certainly tie in something if they wanted to)

I just hopped onto the RE wiki to double check. Apparently Billy was on his way to Lexson Base to be executed, but I think there were also things about prisoners being used as test subjects too. I REMEMBER LIST.

There is a list of prisoners being transferred as test subjects or to be entered into the Black Ops training program, but it's outdated before Billy's transfer. It's a fairly irrelevant file, unless you consider it a nod to what Billy's true fate would have been.

Yeah, I remember Billy's in specific being different, and he was in a jeep or something just passing the area. Usually they're clear if there is a twist somewhere in there like "o no he was really going to be badtouched by scientist."

It's fun to theorize, but they don't ever really give a clear-cut answer. So unless they decide something in the future, he was probably headed for the chopping block. Theoretically. Of course, his whole conviction reeks to me. It's really circumstantial evidence and it sort of smacks of bigger cover-up. which they kind of nod at in one of the files in UC.

They frustrate me with the way they have things that are hinted at and could be set up for potentially interesting plot points... then just drop them. I guess it does leave it open to have some fun with. I hope RE5 has a lot of files in it with backstory and stuff in.

They have this habit of introducing hundreds (sliiiight exaggeration) of new characters instead of using older ones that would have been fine returning and filling that role too. I'm alright with new characters, but it's getting that way where I'm starting to wonder what the point is when we'll probably never see or hear from them again.

I loved Billy, but is there any reason he couldn't have been replaced with a member of Bravo Team and actually gave them the backstory we were promised in Zero? The rest of the team were in it barely five minutes.
Same with Ashley, I ended up liking her (probably one of few who did), but I'd kinda have liked to see her replaced with Sherry. The plot wouldn't have changed THAT much but it'd at least connected back to the older ones more and filled in some plot threads that were left hanging.

I looooved UC's graphics, too. I think I've got more UC icons than regular RE0 icons for my Rebecca journal. Even if they kind of squashed the plot, I think it was a great game.

Yeah UC was really good for pretty updated graphics and filling in plotholes through the various documents and specific behind the scenes stages for Wesker and Ada. The main series stories are more just for ... idk, the pretty and to just put something in the game, I think they knew they weren't doing something grand with it other than a for the fans thing. So were all "LET'S DO SOMETHING QUICK AND EASY." I love UC so much though. 8D Aah I wanna play it now but I can't, I'm trying to finish another game before RE5 comes out. XD

Rebecca's VA in UC WAS awful.

I like my voice actors and keeping track of them -- I recognized her immediately as Stephanie Sheh who I normally like. I've NO idea what went wrong. She voices a lot of Princess type characters in RPGs and I think that totally killed it ("Don't call me Princess!" uh...) It just didn't fit at all and was a poor choice. :\

Yeah, she did Kyrie in Devil May Cry 4 and I thought she did a great job for her, but considering Rebecca is a more assertive character, her soft lilting voice just didn't really cut it for her lines, and just made her sound like a scared little girl the whole game. It didn't help that they cut out all the times when Rebecca saved Billy's ass, either.

Her 0 VA was the best one she's had. the one in REmake wasn't terrible, but her voice was a little lower and she sounded kind of nasally at points, the UC one was terrible, the original RE VA was lol but that's a given, aaaand yeah. Her 0 VA just kind of nailed it for me. She had great emotion.

Trufax though. The female farmer in Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility? Rebecca's VA from 0. The character even looks like Rebecca. If only there were a Billy look-alike to marry.

Oh man, I hated the original idea for RE4 and was so glad when they scrapped it. It looked completely ridiculous with the dolls and stuff. Seemed like they were trying to turn it into Silent Hill and not doing a very good job with it.

Yeah the dolls and stuff were pretty weird. I liked the general vibe it gave of creepiness and sdklfjsdklfjsldkness, though. RE4 wasn't really as scary and it sounded almost like the beta versions were keeping with the horror over action. Which I think could have been done with the lack of the dolls and weird ass shadow monster things. Stalking scissor monster almost sounded like a cool Nemesis type of thing. Maybe it's Nemesis's second cousin who enjoyed running around the bio-labs with sharp objects.

And I HOPE SO. Apparently there will be news this week, I wonder what it's going to be. :D :D :D

I would actually have loved to have seen what the story they had planned was. From what I recall the general gist of it was that Leon was infected with something that was causing these hallucinations. Obviously they carried the infection part over but it turned out much different.
The atmosphere should have stayed too. Just the "let's fight little doll hallucinations!" seemed completely silly. XD
Although admittedly when I saw the first scans of the new build and we had a LotR troll in it I still face-palmed.
It'd have been nice to maybe see what else they had planned in that original version for Leon to fight because they only ever got to showing the focus on the hallucinations and I don't recall ever seeing any other REAL enemies that he would have fought.

I want my RE2 Remake damn it. ;_; Although it included in an UC2 would be nice as well. If they had less games to fit into it, maybe they wouldn't have to cut so much out. (Why hello RE3, where's half your plot gone?)

Yeah the hallucination thing was a little dumb. Though I see the idea of it a little, in if there are real enemies AND those your brain's going to explode trying to figure out which is which and which to use ammo on. XD

An RE2 remake would be awesome. :( I want an RE3 one too since it's still old-gen enough on terms with 1 and 2. Not somuch with CV though, but CV ♥♥. Though that's a good idea too, putting other parts of the other games featured in UC to expand a little bit. I'd expect RE2 and CV. I don't know if an RE4 chapter would be good, but I would love more original stages like the Russia one.

I think we'd have gotten a VERY different Leon too -- seeing hallucinations and not knowing what was real and what wasn't would have made for some angsty!Leon I imagine.
And looking at the trailer it says something about the Progenitor virus. Would have been WAY more interesting if that was what he was infected with.

Between Zero with it's factory areas, some of the sections in both Outbreaks and all the parts in UC, they have half the areas ready for use already. :\
And seeing RE2!Leon and RE2!Claire in Degen made me crave it mooorree.
More original stages filling in little missions with different characters would be awesome. REBECCA AND BARRY TEAM-UP, c'mon, they've GOT to have been doing something all this time.

And oh my God yes, I want to get these comics too. They are so ... so special. Oddly still fun to read for many reasons too but overall it's like whaaat.

It's be nice if it wasn't. If it is UC it probably will be, they'd probably have to change the system if it were if they ever wanted to port it elsewhere since it's very fast and Wiimote focused. Though I would hope if it were a new UC that they build some new things from the old system, since I think they can really expand on some of it to make it better.

Rumor has it that the announcement is supposed to come Thursday! The day before RE5! So if that's true, then Capcom really DOES love us! If it does turn out to be a Wii exclusive, I'll still have RE5, so whatever. There's always youtube. Lol.
