I am on vacation. This means I will probably be working twice as hard at everything. (I am not going anywhere - this is just a 'burn vacation hours + catch up a bit' vacation.) So far I've done a bunch of extra work at the 'rents, dug out boxes for the nerd convention next weekend, and started deep-cleaning the kitchen. At some point I'll probably stall out, but so far so good.

While helping with some errands, I got to visit an Aldi's for the first time. Prices are good and everything I bought has been fine. The main thing they have against them is that they open at 9AM. I suppose if I calibrate lists properly, I can make a quick trip in during the week when I'm out for other reasons. (I also want to go to the fancier grocery this week! But I also want to finally get to the Lebanese restaurant in the same plaza so that will be closer to a lunch-time trip. Maybe Wednesday.)

I am in the planning discord for a new online BL convention. The project came from a conversation on reddit about how a lot of virtual conventions are centered on daytime North America and aren't as accessible for Asian/Oceanian/European fans. (I had mentioned that I'm in NA but not on NA daytime hours, so different boat same river, or something? Anyway, if anyone would like an invite to the planning discord, LMK.)

I've mostly finished up Blade King, a SNAA model kit. He was certainly an adventure and while he certainly isn't perfect, I'm pleased with how he turned out. (He's also huge, though. I don't know where he's going!) I also mostly finished up HG Blue Frame 2nd, who I started earlier in the year and stalled out on. I've misplaced her markings, however. I know they'll turn up, so she can just go on the shelf as-is for now.

So far for the nerd convention, I've dug out some Transformers and some Monster High dolls. Need to match up accessories and cards and whatnot for them if I can. I just have way too many bins of this stuff. It'll be good to downsize... (Hopefully 2026 can be the year of doing a few more shows and getting rid of a few more things?)

It's been a little while since the last one - some of this is because of the length of one of these.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (Complete Original Series) - 130 episodes + movies + documentaries. So this did in fact take awhile! But I really enjoyed it. I had somehow forgotten that He-Man is Science Fantasy and also how good the whole cast is. It also aged well. Wouldn't actually recommend binging it like I did, but I have no regrets. (I do own She-Ra but I need a breather before launching into it.)

Time Bokan Royal Revival - a Tatsunoko parody OVA that probably makes a little more sense with more Tatsunoko knowledge but I know enough to have enjoyed it. I know I've watched this before. I'll have to find it proper shelf space?

Eight Clouds Rising - I know I watched this years ago and was just sort of 'hmm' about it. It's an OVA based on a manga series and despite seeming like BL, isn't? I think I can let this one go.

Wild Zero - I feel like I watched over the summer but it never went on a shelf? If you know who Guitar Wolf is, um, this is the Guitar Wolf Zombie Movie. It's just kind of bonkers and has an amazing soundtrack. Like, it's just... Guitar Wolf Zombie Movie.

Utawarerumono - this was stupidly hyped back when it came out but I never osmosed more than 'guy with a mask' and couldn't have told you another thing about it. Anyway, I was not expecting what I got and it... was okay. A lot happened and it was a ride and became even more of a ride. Apparently Utawarerumono was originally an adult visual novel and, um, you can kinda tell. It can go, but I'm glad I finally saw it.

Dragon Half - dunno how this got in the pile. I should read the manga again too. The anime is hilarious though and kind of a nice palette cleanser.

Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO - I think this ended up in the pile because Zudahs. I still like the Zeon sections; the Feddie bits just kind of feel extra.

So, 5/7 keepers. Not bad.
