Bwuahaha, I feel SO GOOD RIGHT NOW and love me. Once again my being reliable has paid off.
I WENT TO WORK AS PER USUAL. Since Kimmy asked me to come in tonight! And I go! And Brenda is the head for that night, since her and Kimmy trade off. Brenda looks at me and goes "... you're not on for tonight." And I'm like ... what. Because I was SURE I WAS ASKED TO COME IN. She asked me to hang around in caee someone didn't show up (which happens) and called Kimmy to find out what was up.
And I was right! But there was a miscommunication somewhere so Brenda didn't have me on, and therefore didn't need me there tonight. I felt kinda bad about it, not really so much because it was a lost day of work/money, but because I know they were looking to fill up for ... this weekend which I said last week I wouldn't be availabale for because of NYAF. ;.; But they do know I will be available for a Sunday night show if they need me.
However! She asked me if I could come in for Wednesday mat. AND because of that mistake, she would let me be off. >3 SO SCORE.
But that is not the full score of tonight. Jordani (who, I think was in the spot I was supposed to have, but XD) stopped me on my way out and said his brother, who also ushers, was supposed to be at the Richard Rodgers (In the Heights) but could not make it. So if I wanted to work, he could see if they were okay with me coming in so they weren't short. And Dotty, the head over there was happy that I was able to make it.
So yes, I got to work tonight anyway! And with Russel. XD Who, I mentioned before, I went to high school with. It was fun, though since I was waiting at the Brooks I had to jet over there before seating started. And I got to see the show again, since it's been a long time. Last time I worked there was back in April when I started ushering again. I was put downstairs after seating, too, which made me flail because I never worked in the orchestra in that theater before so was like GOD I DON'T WANT TO ACCIDENTLY SCREW SOMETHING UP. But it went well! Save for the ... odd number of annoyances in the form of some patrons compared to what I usually get. But I call that even tradeoff for my lucking out.
So I was not only happy with that turnout, but felt geekily proud because I could have went home and spent the night slowly getting ready for tomorrow. Which I might have done a few months back, but ever since that fail breakdown of mine a while back that resulted in Stuff, I've yet to lose the drive I gained from it. Tara like. o/
... of course now it's close to 1am because In the Heights gets out a little later than I am used to for Grease. And I need to sleep because I have a couple of things to do tomorrow morning before heading to NYAF. Lololol.
